Artist Bio

Jason L Bishop, born in 1972 and primarily raised in Illinois, discovered his passion for photography in 2011, teaching himself the craft through dedicated practice and exploration. Initially drawn to event photography, Jason honed his skills over six years but soon realized his true calling lay in capturing the beauty and essence of wildlife.

In 2021, Jason embarked on a new chapter by apprenticing with a local artist, expanding his artistic vision and technical expertise. Inspired by the natural world, he began taking wildlife photography trips in 2022, enriching his portfolio with captivating images of animals in their natural habitats.

By 2023, Jason had developed his own distinctive body of work, characterized by intimate portrayals of wildlife and their unique personalities. His dedication and talent were recognized in 2024 when he achieved 1st place for Best Photography at Starlines Fourth Friday Art Event. This milestone coupled by securing gallery representation has helped to affirm Jason’s growing influence in the art community.

Today, Jason L Bishop remains committed to expanding his portfolio and engaging collectors with his evocative photography and art. Continually striving to push boundaries and capture unique perspectives, he seeks to inspire others through his ongoing artistic journey.

Artist Statement:

My art is an exploration of wildlife photography, where each image undergoes meticulous processing to isolate the subject from its surroundings.

Inspired by the innate beauty and individuality of wildlife in its natural habitat, my work aims to unveil the unique expressions and character of each animal.
