Description
Theo features this impressive Bay Roan photographed in the Onaqui desert of Utah. He is a bachelor in the North Herd, and he definitely carries himself like one tough hombre. He also keeps a watchful eye over the rest of the herd, which says a lot about his personality.
I chose to keep his name, Theo, because that is how he is known on the Onaqui Catalog Foundations website. That connection makes this piece feel even more personal and true to the story behind the image.
This Onaqui mustang print works well for collectors who appreciate wild horse photography, western artwork, and limited-edition wildlife pieces with a real story behind them. Theo has a strong presence, but there is also something calm and steady about him. That balance gives the image its character.
Theo is printed on two layers of Gampi paper. The image then goes through several additional processes, including hand deckling, to achieve the final appearance.
With this image, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and frame him in a square format.
Theo is available in either a contemporary black frame or a more rustic barnwood frame.
